Living the Right Dream

The very best coaching is a combination of strategy and soulful healing. Minimal strategy, maximum healing.
For most of my adult life I was inclined towards seeking out the best coaches I could find to help me on my way. I loved it, but working with them could also be deeply frustrating sometimes when no matter how I tried, I simply could not successfully action the things I was being guided to do. There were wins and I grew along the way for sure, but there were also many, many instances of feeling like such a failure because I just couldn’t follow through completely enough to get the results I wanted.
The problem is very plain to me now. If there’s an unconscious conflict with our plan, it can be extremely difficult to proceed. Successful coaching and guidance come from prioritising congruence.
Firstly we must established that our goals are actually in true alignment with our heart and soul. It’s so common for our minds to be hijacked and captivated by ideas that are mismatched with who we are at the core.
Secondly, having ensured that we’re lined up in the right direction, progress can really only continue smoothly when we’re consistently attending to any unconscious feelings or beliefs that cause us to stall or deviate inadvertently.
A really great coach, like shamans and mystics of old, will have the capacity to recognise our inherent potential and also to foresee potential downfalls.
In my 30’s I was super excited about launching a swimwear line. I was still devoted to my clinic work but I’d sewn my own clothes for years and I loved the creative of it. I was tired of shopping for awesome bikinis that I could never find so I decided to bring them to life myself. I enlisted a business coach to guide me. I flew from Canberra to the Gold Coast every 2 weeks or so for a whole semester to complete a swimwear design and production course. I found a manufacturer in Bali and travelled there to have the samples made. There were a number of fun steps in the right direction but the process was far from smooth. I really loved the mission but mostly it was slow and frustrating. At some point I had a session with a spiritual counsellor and he told me it wasn’t the right dream to be pursuing. He said I wasn’t at the point in my life where I had the right network established that would allow me to be successful with this kind of venture. I was devastated.
But it’s exactly these kinds of shocking blows that can offer the greatest gifts. As the disturbance from that upsetting guidance eased, I could see how it made sense. Then it was a relief to appreciate that there could be other things that would progress with less stress because they were better aligned.
Sometimes a dream is only half right. It might be something we’re launching into prematurely or it could be something we’re pressing on with long after it should have been completed. Some people seek to progress plans with others which they should be pursuing as a solo venture. Others take on the support role when they’re built to be the leader. Many are half-hearted about the things they’re very best at and dismiss their value because they come so naturally.
Alternatively, there are other people doing exactly what they should be yet it’s laborious or inconsistently productive. Their operation mightn’t be nearly as streamlined as it could be, nor bringing in great revenue. They might have the most wonderful goods and services and yet very few customers. Sights are set on the right target but there are unconscious hinderances that jam up the flourishing flow.
Don’t get stuck with a coach who can’t guide you into the critical territory of your soul. The very best unique and extraordinary blueprints for success live in the soul and that’s where the most powerful healing can be effected for unparalleled advancement. Cultivate your own capacity to feel into this deeper territory and build allegiances with others who do the same. Being clearly led by the soul serves the most magnificent outcomes.
